What this site does with your data

Short version: as little as a website can get away with.

What is collected

This is a set of static pages. There is no account to create, no newsletter to join, no comment form and no tracking script following you between pages.

The server that delivers the pages keeps ordinary access logs: the requesting IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, the referring page where the browser sends one, and the browser identification string. These are used to keep the site running and to see which pages are being read. They are kept for a short period and then deleted, and they are not combined with anything else or used to build a profile of a visitor.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own. It runs no analytics product, no advertising tags and no social media embeds that would set cookies on our behalf.

Your browser may store things locally as it does on any site — cached files, for example — but nothing is written by this site to identify or follow you.

If you write to us

Email sent to the address on the Contacts page is read by the editors and kept for as long as it takes to deal with it, plus a reasonable period in case the same question comes back. Corrections are often kept longer, because knowing why a page says what it says is part of maintaining it, but the correspondence is not published and the sender is not identified on the site.

Email addresses are never passed on, sold or added to a mailing list.

Third parties

Fonts are served from this site’s own domain rather than from a font network, so loading a page here does not announce your visit to a third party.

Pages do link outward, to the band’s website and to other sites. Following a link takes you somewhere with its own privacy practices, which are that site’s business and not ours.

One page is different, and it is worth being exact about. The videos page offers a video that plays in place. Until you ask for it, nothing at all is requested from YouTube: what loads with the page is a still photograph held on this site and a play button. If you press play, the player is built at that moment and your browser connects to youtube-nocookie.com, which means your IP address and the page you came from reach Google. The host is the one that does not set advertising cookies for a video you have not played, but the connection itself is real, and it is the only point at which this site hands anything to a third party. Not pressing play means it never happens.

Your rights

You can ask what data is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or object to it being processed. Write to the address on the legal notice and the request will be answered.

Given how little is collected, the honest answer to most such requests is that there is nothing held beyond a short-lived server log entry, and possibly an email you sent us.
